The Zachary Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library serving more than 20,000 residents of the city of Zachary, located in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. As an affiliate library of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL), the Zachary Branch contributes to the general collection and services of the entire county library system, which includes more than 1.6 million books and serial volumes, more than 53,000 E-Books, more than 62,000 audio files, and more than 127,000 video files, with a total circulation of more than 2.5 million items per year. The Zachary Branch opened in 1939 and was relocated several times until 2002, when a new location was purchased. It is just one of the 13 branches, in addition to the main library, a book selling facility, and a mobile library, with more than 2.5 million visitors and more than 300,000 registered borrowers in total. The Zachary Branch Library, a stunningly up-to-date and roomy establishment, offers separate places for adults and children, as well as reference desks, reading and study facilities, and areas for exhibitions and displays. Direct access from the lobby leads to the circulation counter, where staff members may clearly view and welcome customers. A sizable collection of books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, films, and recorded books is kept in the library, which also offers free wireless Internet access.
