The South Lafourche Library is a publicly funded and administered library serving more than 5,000 residents of the community of Cut Off, a census-designated place on the Bayou Lafourche in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. It is an affiliate branch of the Lafourche Parish Public Library, which was created by Parish Ordinance #667 in 1935. In its first two years of operation, the library launched bookmobile services and eight new branches; South Lafourche Branch is one of these. The South Lafourche Branch contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library system, which includes over 260,000 books and serial volumes, more than 8,000 E-Books, more than 9,000 audio files, and more than 39,000 video files. The county library system circulates more than 400,000 items annually. It is just one of the six locations that make up the Lafourche Parish Public Library, which has more than 46,000 registered borrowers and about 300,000 visitors annually across its three major branches and bookmobile service. Currently, the South Lafourche is being rebuilt after Hurricane Ida severely damaged it. Patrons are invited to use the library's Larose Branch.
