The Indian River County Public Library System serves over 139,000 residents of Vero Beach. It includes the Main branch and a Law Library located in downtown Vero Beach and branches in Sebastian, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, and Fellsmere, the Brackett Library on the Indian River State College Mueller Campus, and a vending library at the Intergenerational Center as well as a Used Book Depot and Library Friends Gift Shop. The library maintains 475,685 volumes and circulates 1.3 million items per year. It provides meeting rooms, public internet computers, and mobile printing. It also has a Makerspace located at the North Indian River County Branch, and it provides access to equipment such as a Cricut machine, 3D printer, laser engraver, and sewing machine, which allows patrons to explore various DIY activities. Programs available at the library include family storytime, health & wellness, teen gaming, baby sign language, sewing classes, and others.
