The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) is a division of the Broward County Library, which serves 181,668 residents in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Library System maintains 2.7 million volumes and circulates 9.8 million items annually. The AARLCC opened its doors in October 2002. It has collections of books, artifacts, artwork, manuscripts, and reference materials and also features the Ashley Bryam Art Collection and 3D models of African artifacts. It offers computer technology and various programs to meet the educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the community.
