The Millhopper Branch Library serves 140,398 residents in Gainesville and is part of the Alachua County Library District. The Library System maintains 952,033 volumes and circulates 2.7 million items annually. Millhopper Branch Library opened its doors in 1992 and is housed in a 23,000-square-foot building. It provides a Snuggle-Up Center, a Quiet Reading room, Meeting and Study rooms, WiFi, Computers, Printing/Copying devices in addition to a variety of events, including weekly Storytime, Music and Movement, Kid Gaming, Chess Club, and Spanish Conversation Groups.
