The Springfield Branch Library (also known as Albany-Springfield Branch Library) is a publicly funded and managed library serving more than 5,000 residents in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. It is an affiliate branch of the Livingston Parish Library (LPL), established in 1946 with a collection of 6,000 new books. The Springfield Branch was completed in 1971 with a 320-square-foot and standard shelving building, and in 2007, the Albany-Springfield Branch opened. The Branch contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library system, which includes over 320,000 books and serial volumes, more than 6,000 E-Books, more than 8,000 audio files, and more than 10,000 video files. The county library system circulates more than 470,000 items annually. It is just one of the four branches, the bookmobile, and the main library that make up the LPL, which has more than 73,000 registered borrowers and about 400,000 visitors annually across its three major branches and bookmobile service.
