The South Dade Regional Library serves 439,890 residents in the City of Miami and is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Library. The Library System maintains 3.2 million volumes and circulates approximately 6.1 million items annually. South Dade Regional Library is the first branch of the Library System opened in 1977 and is currently housed in a 52,644-square-foot building. It provides passport services, mobile printing, storytime events, craft workshops, computer and financial literacy classes, a chess club, and technology workshops for teens.
