The River Center Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library serving more than 220,000 residents of the city of Baton Rouge, located on the Mississippi River and the capital of Louisiana. As an affiliate library of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, the River Center Branch contributes to the general collection and services of the entire county library system (EBRPL), which includes more than 1.6 million books and serial volumes, more than 53,000 E-Books, more than 62,000 audio files, and more than 127,000 video files, with a total circulation of more than 2.5 million items per year. Founded in 1980, the River Center Branch is only one of the 13 branches, plus the main library, a book sale facility, and several bookmobiles, with a total aggregated visitation of more than 2.5 million and more than 300,000 registered borrowers. The branch has a floor dedicated to children's services, a teen room, the Electronic Arts Teen Technology Lab, maker space, a digital media studio, a large meeting room, a rooftop terrace, three conference rooms, and a variety of collaborative study and work rooms.
