The North Dade Regional Library is a member of the Miami-Dade Public Library System, which serves over 2.4 million Miami residents. The Library System maintains 3.2 million volumes and circulates approximately 6.1 million items annually. North Dade Regional Library was opened in 1979 and is housed in a 50,000-square-foot space in Miami Gardens, extending its services to the City, Opa-Locka, and the Golden Glades neighborhood. Its collections include books, audiobooks, DVDs, magazines, Schomburg Clipping Files, and reference materials for Black studies. It houses the YOUmedia Miami Makerspace with instruments for technology workshops and serves as one of the Passport Acceptance Facilities. The North Dade Regional Library provides Computer Basics, Art Exhibitions, LEGOs, Crafts, Game Time, Homework Help, Chess Club, STEAM activities, and other library events.
