The Eden Park Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library serving more than 220,000 residents of the city of Baton Rouge. The Eden Park Branch is an affiliate library of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL), which maintains over 55,000 books, 70 magazines, 10 newspapers, and 3,500 videos, DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs. Founded in 1981, it was initially a 2,285-square-foot building and now occupies 14,026 square feet of space. Along with the main library, a book selling facility, and a mobile library, there are 13 other branches, including the Eden Park Branch, that collectively receive more than 2.5 million visitors and more than 300,000 registered borrowers. The branch's facilities also include a large meeting room capable of holding 93 people, which can be split into two separate rooms and two kitchenettes. The branch also offers 40 PCs for public use, including instructional workstations in the meeting room and a computer with special hardware and software for use by visitors who are blind or visually impaired. It also contains separate rooms for adults, teenagers, and kids, including a dedicated storytime room, four soft seating areas, a space for a community art gallery, and free wireless Internet access.
