The Broadmoor Branch is a publicly funded and managed library serving more than 180,000 residents of the city of Shreveport, the third most populous city in Louisiana. As an affiliate library of the Shreve Memorial Library, the Broadmoor Branch contributes to the general collection and services of the entire county library system, which includes almost 700,000 books and serial volumes, almost 30,000 E-Books, more than 40,000 audio files, and more than 107,000 video files, with a total circulation of more than 1.1 million items per year. In 1948, the Broadmoor Branch became operational, was expanded numerous times, and currently occupies 4,088 square feet in a U-shaped building. It is just one of the 20 branches, in addition to the main library, a support services center, and a number of bookmobiles, with more than 1.3 million visitors and more than 160,000 registered borrowers in total.
