The Big Pine Key Library serves nearly 5,000 residents in the city of Big Pine Key, Monroe County, Florida. In Key West, Florida's Keys, the first public library was established in 1853. More than 35,000 adults and children are currently served by the Monroe County Public Library, which has five facilities from Key Largo to Key West, and Big Pine Key is one of these. Today, it contributes to the aggregate library facility inventory of the county, which includes nearly 165,000 books and serial volumes, more than 3,500 eBooks, a little over 13,000 audio files, and almost 22,000 video files. Additionally, it has circulated almost 360,000 items, with more than 380,000 visits and more than 43,000 registered borrowers.
