The Algiers Point Branch, now named Cita Hubbell Branch Library serves about 376,971 residents in the city of New Orleans. The library is a part of the New Orleans Public Library, which houses 673,583 books and serial volumes and circulates more than 1.1 million items annually, including books of all genres, magazines, newspapers, and digital resources for kids, teens, and adults. It was rededicated in 2002 in Mrs. Hubbell's honor and is one of the system's oldest branches, having opened its doors for the first time in December 1907.
