The 78th Street Community Library serves over 300,000 Tampa City residents. The library is publicly funded and affiliated with the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library, which maintains 1.6 million volumes and circulates 9.7 million items annually. Established in 1997, the branch library occupies an 8,000-square-foot building with meeting and study rooms, computers, and WiFi, and houses a collection of books, music  CDs, magazines, and DVDs. In addition, it offers computer classes for all ages, family storytime, and baby time events.
