The Kings Beach Library is a part of the Placer County Library that serves 3,563 residents in Kings Beach City. The library system maintains 319,474 volumes and circulates 1.3 million items per year. The Kings Beach Library was initiated by Mrs. Dorothy O'Brien in the early 1940s and was opened in its current location in 1988. It provides the Tahoe Collection featuring the history and terrain of the Lake Tahoe area, book sales, book drops, three Internet & Microsoft Office workstations, WiFi, and photocopying/printing services.
