The Carpinteria Branch Library is one of the public libraries under the Santa Barbara Public Library (SBPL) and serves a little over 13,000 residents in the city of Carpinteria on the Central Coast of California. Founded in 1916, Carpinteria adds to the SBPL system's whole collection of resources, which includes more than 260,000 books and serial volumes, nearly 15,000 e-books, more than 29,000 audio files, and nearly 27,000 video files. Likewise, over 1.2 million people visited the system's six locations annually, over 93,000 people registered as borrowers, and almost 1.7 million items were circulated.
