The University Park Branch Library, a publicly funded and managed library, is an affiliate library of the Orange County (CA) Public Library. The library serves 272,694 residents in the city of Irvine, in Orange County, California. Founded in 1921, it all started as the “Orange County Free Library” while serving in a leased room, and within a year, another eight branches were added, working with just about 10,000 volumes and 4609 borrowers. By 2020, the aggregate collection of the library circulates more than 7 million items with almost 4 million visits, nearly 85,000 library cards issued, almost 312,000 internet sessions, and almost 850,000 wireless sessions. Additionally, they have launched Wi-Fi on Wheels (WOW) to address and augment the digital needs during the pandemic. Today, University Park Branch Library is only one of the 33 branches of Orange County (CA) Public Library.
