The Sunkist Library serves 9.8 million residents in La Puente City and is a branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library. The library system maintains 5.3 million volumes and circulates 16.5 million items annually. The Sunkist Library opened as a storefront library in the Sunkist Shopping Center in 1960 and moved to its current location on Puente Avenue in 1978. It occupies an 8,314-square-foot building with children and teens spaces, a meeting room, and computers, including four public computers, four children's computers, two teen computers, eight laptop & hotspot kits, eight express computers, and two early learning computers. It offers in-person and telephone research assistance, photocopying, homework help, book drop services, and various programs for all ages.
