The Shell Beach Library serves the residents of Shell Beach and is a part of the County of San Luis Obispo Library System. The Library System maintains 375,275 volumes and circulates over 2.4 million items per year. Shell Beach Library is housed in a 1,000-square-foot building along with a seed library. It provides books, DVDs, one adult computer,  WiFi, a self-checkout machine, an online catalog computer, book discussion groups, and book sales.
