The Santa Maria Public Library System serves over 170,000 residents of Santa Maria in Santa Barbara County. It opened its doors in 1961 and has since expanded to include the main library, branch libraries in Cuyama, Guadalupe, Los Alamos, and Orcutt, and a Bookmobile.
