The San Ardo Branch Library serves 628 residents in the San Ardo community and is one of the Monterey County Free Libraries. The library system maintains 313,160 volumes and circulates approximately 434,000 items per year. The San Ardo Branch opened in 1916 as the Summer Branch and moved to its current location in 1986, occupying over a 1,000-square-foot building. It has a total annual circulation of 1,452 items, which includes English and Spanish materials, books, books on CDs, DVDs, magazines, and newspapers. San Ardo Library also houses the Greenfield Mobile Science Lab and provides public computers with Internet access and Microsoft Office software, WiFi, fax/print/scan/copy machines, and activities for children and adults.
