The Running Springs Branch Library is a publicly funded and managed library that serves more than 4,000residents in the city of Running Springs. It is an affiliate branch of the San Bernardino County Library (SBCL). Founded in 1913, SBCL was established with the initiative of the California State Librarian and the support of the San Bernardino County communities. In 1986, in response to the growing need for library services, the Running Springs Branch Library was opened, which contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library system, which includes more than 88,000 books and serial volumes, more than 3,000 e-books, more than 4,000 audio files, and more than 3,000 video files. Additionally, the library system hosts over 77,000 visitors a year at its 32 branches, circulates over 57,000 items, and has over 7,000 registered borrowers.
