The Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Harley & Bessie Knox Library is part of the San Diego Public Library, serving the people in Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, Middletown, Mission Hills, and Old Town Communities in San Diego City. The Library System maintains 5.3 million volumes and circulates 6.8 million items per year, including e-books, audio-visual materials, and collections in 26 languages. The new Mission Hills Branch Library was named in memory of the philanthropists Harley and Bessie Knox and is housed in a 15,000-square-foot building along with meeting and study rooms, children and teens spaces, a Makerspace, and a computer lab with 14 adults and 10 children computers. It provides traditional resources, LGBTQ Books, preschool storytime, book clubs, and other library events.
