The Marin County Free Library serves 139,500 residents of San Rafael and the cities of Fairfax, Novato and Corte Madera with 10 branch locations throughout Marin County and two Bookmobiles. The library maintains 487,625 volumes and circulates roughly 2 million items per year, including physical and digital resources spanning fiction, nonfiction, mystery, biographies, science fiction, and fantasy. The library provides public computers, accessible workstations, WiFi, laptops available for borrowing at the Novato Library, museum passes, and test proctoring that is currently available only at the Civic Center Library Branch. Programs available at the library include storytime, ESL classes, music & movement storytime in Spanish, Lego club, mahjong, and more.
