The Golden Gate Valley Branch Library is the ninth Branch of the San Francisco Public Library, serving 815,200 residents in San Francisco. The Library System maintains 2.7 million volumes and circulates 10.6 million items annually. The new Golden Gate Valley Branch opened in 2011 and houses collections of fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, and reference materials that cover science fiction, mystery, and romance genres. It provides storytime, book clubs, and other library events for children and adults.
