The Buena Vista Branch Library serves 12,912 residents in the City of Salinas, including Spreckels, Indian Springs, Toro Park, and the Buena Vista Middle School. The library is a part of the Monterey County Free Libraries and has a total annual circulation of 27,987 items. The Buena Vista Branch has been serving the community since 1914 and currently occupies a 3,800-square-foot building with collections of books, talking books on CDs, DVDs, magazines, and newspapers. It provides wireless internet access, public computers with Internet, Microsoft Office, scan, copy, fax, and print as well as a homework center, storytime, crafts, and other library events.
