The Allied Gardens/Benjamin Branch Library serves 1.3 million residents in San Diego City and is a part of the San Diego Public Library. The Library System maintains 5.2 million volumes and circulates 6.8 million items annually. The Benjamin Branch was established in 1965 and has since expanded its collections and services. It opened in its current location in 1986 and provides a meeting room, a periodical reading room, an outdoor patio, nine computers for public use, WiFi, Lego, fitness activities, storytimes, and other library events.
