The Fairfield Civic Center Library serves nearly 120,000 residents in the city of Fairfield, in the North Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area in Solano County, California. As one of the branch libraries of the Solano County Library, founded in 1914 as the Solano County Free Library, the Fairfield Civic Center was opened in 1931. Today, the renovated 40,000-square-foot building has meeting and study rooms and 60 PCs available for public use. It contributes to the whole collection of the county's library system, which includes a collection of more than half a million volumes that is circulated up to more than 1.8 million items per year with a service population of more than 400,000 in all its eight sites.
