The Alleghany Station Library is a publicly funded and managed library that serves almost one hundred residents in the city of Alleghany, Sierra County, California. It is an affiliate branch of the Plumas County Library and one of the four branches under the Sierra County Stations. Founded in 1852, Sierra County is contracted by Plumas County Library to provide cost-effective management of the branches, and Alleghany Station is one of them. The Alleghany Station Library contributes to the overall collection and services of the county library system, which includes more than 88,000 books and serial volumes, more than 3,000 e-books, more than 4,000 audio files, and more than 3,000 video files. Additionally, the library system hosts over 77,000 visitors a year at its seven locations, circulates over 57,000 items, and has over 7,000 registered borrowers.
