The San Ysidro Branch Library serves the people living in the San Ysidro and Otay Mesa West communities of San Diego. The library is one of the branches of the San Diego Public Library, which maintains 5.2 million volumes and circulates 6.8 million items per year. The new San Ysidro Branch opened in its current 15,000-square-foot building in 2009. It is equipped with meeting and study rooms, a computer lab, dedicated teens and children spaces, and a Makerspace with 3D printers, vinyl cutter, sewing, and embroidery machines. It provides 27 adults and 12 children's computers, homework help, storytime, and other numerous events for all ages.
