The Octavia Fields Branch of Harris County Public Library serves about 16,400 residents in the City of Humble. The library maintains 91,050 volumes and circulates 299,700 items annually, including fiction and nonfiction books, audio, movies, and TV for kids, teens, and adults. It was established in 1921 and renamed Octavia Fields in 1969 in honor of Mrs. Fields, and it currently serves as a Family Place Learning Center. The Octavia Fields Branch offers Storytimes, English Learning (ESL) classes, Computer & technology classes, citizenship classes, proctoring, and passport services.
