The Austin History Center is a division of the Austin Public Library that collects and preserves the historical records of the City of Austin and Travis County. The library gathers past and current events about local governments, businesses, residents, and institutions that define Austin and Travis County, including the African-American and Mexican-American Settlement Surveys. The Center, with its reading room, is open every day except Mondays.
