The Research Library - Museum of Ventura County serves about 109,530 residents in the City of Ventura. The library has a vast collection of materials on the history of the City and Ventura County. Some of its resources are monographs, biographies, directories, census records, voter indexes, court records, government records, Assessor rolls, property records, and manuscript archives, including personal papers and collections of individuals and families. Its items cover early historical times, present times, Mission and Rancho periods, and the Chumash Indians. It is open to the public by appointment from Wednesday to Friday.
