The Montgomery County Memorial Library System serves more than 640,000 residents in Conroe City, Montgomery County. The library, which began in 1948 and presently has seven locations, has one of the largest genealogical collections of any Texas Public Library. Each year, the library maintains over 660,000 volumes and circulates over 2.4 million items.
