The Midland County Public Library serves 140,300 residents of Midland County. It started on the corner of West Wall and Colorado streets through the efforts of the Midland Library Association and has since expanded to include the Downtown Library, Centennial Library, Law Library, and Bookmobile. The library maintains 223,490 volumes and circulates 377,000 items per year. It provides public meeting rooms, study rooms, notary services, exam proctoring, and various activities, including storytime, adult coloring, book club, and STEAM activities. Additionally, the library branches are a recognized passport acceptance facility where patrons can apply for passports by appointment.
