The Las Palmas Library is part of the San Antonio Public Library and serves 60,000 residents in west San Antonio, including Hispanic, Anglo, African-American, and area schools in the Edgewood Independent School District. The library maintains 65,000 volumes, audiobooks, videos, music CDs, DVDs, and interfiled juvenile and adult nonfiction. Opened in 1922, Las Palmas Library is housed in a 22,000-square-foot near the San Fernando Catholic Cemetery in the City Council District 5. In addition, it offers a range of library programs and services for all ages.
