The Kendall Neighborhood Library and Community Center serves over 280,000 residents of Houston and is a part of the Houston Public Library. The library system maintains 2.6 million volumes and circulates 7.1 million items annually. The Kendall Neighborhood Branch opened its doors in 1969 and is housed in a 28,600-square-foot building with meeting and study rooms. It provides books, journals, periodicals, history resources, mobile print services, and events, including baby storytime, kid's crafts, one-on-one computer assistance, Tabletop games, and technology programs.
