The Hastings Branch Library serves 135,732 residents in Los Angeles County's Pasadena City, including seven elementary schools, eight preschools, and one high school. The Library was established in 1959 as a branch of the Pasadena Public Library and has since expanded its collections and services. It maintains 53,903 volumes and circulates 64,000 items per year. These materials include books, periodicals, picture books, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs, and they span fiction, folk, fairytales, home arts, travel, and biography. The Hastings Branch is currently housed in a 7,800-square-foot building and offers meeting rooms, Chinese and Spanish resources, and a variety of programs for children and adults.
