The First Colony Branch Library serves over 109,000 residents in the City of Sugar Land and is part of the Fort Bend County Library System. It adds print and digital resources to the overall holdings of the Library System and is the busiest Fort Bend County Library location. Each year, approximately 3.3 million items are circulated and 636,730 volumes are maintained. First Colony Branch Library is housed in a 19,400-square-foot building with a 100-person capacity meeting room, a conference room for 16 persons, and 5 study rooms. It has computers with Internet access, Microsoft Office tools, and research and educational databases for youths and adults. It also offers printing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing services and events like early literacy, storytime, and English language ESL programs.
