The Castroville Branch Library is one of the Monterey County Free Libraries that serves 6,332 residents in the City of Castroville. The library was established in November 1914, currently housed in a 10,000-square-foot building, and keeps collections of books, talking books on CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers, and small telescopes. It circulates 20,141 items in a fiscal year, including English and Spanish resources. The Castroville Branch also provides meeting rooms, WiFi, public computers with Internet, Microsoft Office and print, fax, scan, and copy machines, a homework center, and various events for all ages.
