The Barbara Bush Branch Library serves 63,930 residents in the City of Spring and is part of the Harris County Public Library. The library, a replacement for the previous Cypress Creek Library, was named for the former First Lady Barbara Bush and it opened its doors in December 2002. It maintains over 174,750 volumes and circulates 1.2 million items per year, including fiction and nonfiction books, movies, and digital resources. It provides a Maker Lab/Makerbot Replicator Scanner, a Family Place Learning Center, Meeting and Study Rooms, a Computer Lab, Kurzweil Equipment for the visually impaired with a Scanner, Print Station, Photocopier, Self-Check-Out Machine, and Common Access Card Reader for U.S. Military. Barbara Bush Branch Library also offers technology classes, English Learning (ESL) classes, passport services, and exam proctoring.
