The Lone Star College & Tomball Community Library serves over 13,580 residents in the City of Tomball and is part of the Harris County Public Library. The library began as Tomball Library in the 1920s and has since undergone several moves and additions to serve the community better. It opened as the Lone Sater College-Tomball Community Library in January 2005. Its current collections include 129,900 volumes and approximately 693,800 items in circulation annually. It has an active Friends of the Library, which funds and supports the library services and programs. It provides a Digitization Station, Self-checkout machine, Maker Equipment, Print Station, Digital Media & Innovation Lab, Internet Cafe, Photocopier/Scanner, Family Place Learning Center, and Rooms for children, teens, meetings, and study. Proctoring is available at the LSC-Tomball Assessment Center on the second floor. The Library also offers a variety of events for all ages, including Toddler Time, Book Club, Tech Time, Crafts, and Storytime.
