The Kentwood (Richard L. Root) Branch Library is a Kent District Library branch that serves about 54,300 residents in the City of Kentwood. The District Library circulates over 6.8 million items annually and maintains 865,193 volumes. The Kentwood Branch began as a bookmobile on South Division, became a branch library in 1955, and moved to its 46,000-square-foot facility in August 2010. It has community meeting rooms, teen spaces, WiFi, and public computers and offers vending services, used book sales, 24/7 holds pickup, printing/copying services, and various library events.
