The Alto Branch Library serves the people in Bowne Township's unincorporated community of Alto, Kent County. The library is a part of the Kent District Library, which maintains 865,193 volumes and circulates over 6.8 million items annually. Alto Branch opened in 1937 through the endeavors of the Bowne Center Parent Teacher Association and moved to its current 5,000-square-foot building in 1996. It offers book sales, vending services, public computers with internet, word processing, and other software, printing, copying, storytime, book clubs, and other library events.
