The Cascade Township Branch of the Kent District Library serves 197,416 residents in the City of Grand Rapids. The library contributes to the 865,193 volumes available on hand and over 6.8 million items circulated annually by the Library System. The Cascade Township Branch began as a bookmobile in 1965 and opened as a branch library in 1972, located in the township hall. It now occupies a 20,000-square-foot building and houses the Wisner Center. Its facilities include community meeting rooms, private rooms, a local history room, teen spaces, public computers with the Internet and Word processing software, WiFi, and print/copy devices. It offers used book sales, storytime events, babytime, homeschool hangouts, and other library programs and services.
