The Wheat Ridge Library is a public library serving more than 30,000 residents in the city of Wheat Ridge, located in Jefferson County, Colorado. It is an affiliate branch of the Jefferson County Public Library System (JCPL). JCPL maintains nearly a million volumes and circulates more than 7.3 million items per year. It was established in 1952 when municipal libraries joined together under one system with a commitment to free all residents through knowledge. Today, JCPL has 15 libraries, and the bookmobile, equipped with its three core values of innovation, accountability, and excellence, will continue its mission to help build an educated and vibrant community by providing equal access to information and opportunities. Wheat Ridge Library was opened in response to the rising demand for library services and a larger area. It adds to the county system's overall resources, which include more than 700,000 books and serial volumes, more than 45,000 e-books, nearly 90,000 audio files, and more than 120,000 video files. Also, the library system saw more than 2.4 million visitors annually, more than 7.4 million items circulated, and over 350,000 registered borrowers.
