The Lucille E. Dearth Union Township Branch Library serves about 1,700 residents of Union City in Branch and Calhoun counties, Michigan. The library was established in 1870 as the Union City Ladies Lending Library and became a part of the Branch County Library in 1941, which later formed the Branch District Library. The Library District maintains over 100,000 books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and digital collections and circulates more than 184,000 items per year. The Union Township branch is publicly funded and offers programs, services, and print and electronic resources through library applications.
