The Technology Engagement Center (TEC) is a bookless part of the Rutherford County Library System, which serves approximately 157,500 Murfreesboro residents. The TEC was launched in 2017 to provide internet access, meeting spaces, and technology services for individuals, families, and businesses. The TEC's Makerspace features a Glowforge Pro Laser Cutter/Engraver machine, 3D printers, Raspberry Pi mini-computers, and Arduino microcontrollers, and instructions and classes are provided to patrons before using the Machines.
