The Switzer Library serves about 61,500 residents in the City of Marietta and is a branch of the Cobb County Public Library.  More than 928,000 volumes are maintained by the library system, which circulates approximately 2.8 million annually. The Switzer Branch Library opened in 1989 as the Central Library and was renamed for Charles D. Switzer in 2013. It serves as the main library and houses the Windy Hill Library for those with special needs, the Georgia Room, a local history and genealogical collection of over 15,000 items, and the Library System's administration and support resources. The Switzer Library offers meeting and study rooms, curbside hold pickup, public computers, WiFi, print/copy/fax/scan services, and a wide range of programs for all ages.
