The Sunnyside Branch Library is a public library serving nearly 20,000 residents in the city of Durango near the New Mexico border in southwestern Colorado. It is an affiliate branch of the Durango Public Library, which was founded in 1889. The Sunnyside Branch is housed at the Sunnyside Elementary School and was opened in response to the rising demand for library services and a larger area. It adds to the city system's overall resources, which include more than 84,000 books and serial volumes, more than 569 e-books, nearly 9,000 each for audio and video files, and more than 2,000 audio files. Also, the library system saw more than 420,000 visitors annually, more than 400,000 items circulated, and over 32,000 registered borrowers.
